Evidence of a life owned by God

“For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body," James 3:2.

To the one moving toward perfection,

A tamed tongue is evidence of a life wholly submitted to God. That is because no man can tame the tongue. It is the last frontier. When it is bridled, the whole body will be under subjection. A tame tongue is the result of abiding in Christ. We rest in Him, and refuse to react to the circumstances around us. Instead, we tune our spirits into His voice, and speak what we hear Him tell us. There can be no self seeking or envy in our hearts because our only expectation is in Christ. Therefore we can have perfect peace. This is the place of rest that the Bible speaks about (Hebrews 3 and 4). In Christ there is no division. All that Christ says and does are in complete agreement. So it is with us when we lose our will to His. When our heart is one with the heart of God then the river that flows from us will not bring forth both bitter water and sweet. Our tongue can be a river of living water that brings life to others.

Until God graces me to share again,
