The awesome power to create
"And God said, 'Let there be... and there was...'" Genesis 1:2.

Creative one,
Yesterday I spoke about the powerful way words can affect circumstances. We still may not have grasped the totality of this truth.
God is the Creator. He creates through His words. He spoke into nothing and something appeared. His faith was revealed through the words of His mouth, and became tangible. Romans 4:17 says that, "[God]... gives life to the dead and calls those things that do not exist as though they did."
God created man in His own image. Man was created in the image of the Creator. Man also creates with his words. One example of this is the process by which we are saved. "... If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
Words are forces that come from the spirit of man. They have power. Heart belief expressed through words equals creation... for good or for bad. Just as God's Word is a seed, our words are tiny seeds. We sow them freely, often without taking any thought of what kind of seed they are. Seeds are preprogrammed by the creator to produce something. Acorns produce oak trees... corn seeds, corn... watermelon seeds, watermelons.
The condition (or faith) of our heart determines what type of seed that we sow. Negative words produce negative results (especially in children who are very fertile soil). We must also be aware though, that our heart condition tends to follow our words. If we say anything long enough we begin to believe it. Things that we say jokingly can even take root and grow. That is why it is so important to choose our words carefully.
What if we really realized that our words were seeds. If we were conscious of the fact that everything that we speak has the potential to really take root and grow. Would we choose our words more carefully? I think so.
I think it's important to realize that this wonderful power was given by God. We always have the choice of whether we will use His gifts for good or for evil. Think of the implications that this truth has for our ability to shape life and circumstances positively. What if we began to plan the positive things that we would like to see in people and circumstances the same way that a farmer plans what type of harvest he wants to reap? It's a very simple principle, but one that so few people really understand. What ever you plant is what is going to grow. Let's take careful thought of the type of things that we want to produce and then consider the exact seed that needs to be sown.
Until God graces me to share again,
