Redefining life
“Jesus said to Him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me," John 14:6.
To those who truly want to live,
This is a world of relativism and situational ethics. Right and wrong are determined by the conscience of society rather than any absolute standard. It offends society greatly that anyone should declare their way to be the only way. Yet that is exactly what Jesus Christ did.
Most people have no problem believing Christ to be a religious or holy man, yet they deny His claim to be the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).Anyone, however, who truly reads the Bible, should come to one of two conclusions. He is either Who He said He is, or He is not. His claims are so radical that if they are false, they should be dismissed, and He should be considered a misguided fool. If they are true, and He is Who He says He is, we need to listen to Him. We must not pick and choose those “parts of Him” worthy of obedience.
As society drifts farther from any absolute, its members drown in a sea of pressure and stress characterized by constant change. The fad of the day determines how people will view marriage, raise children, conduct work and order life. Lack of moral absolutes and values creates a neurosis reflected by the disintegration of family, government, and society, as well as, individual mental, emotional and physical health. People are breaking down. The evidence is clear. All the while you are left to determine the path that is best for your own life.
Jesus said that every person would find Him either to be a cornerstone, or a stumbling stone (Psalm 118:22; Matthew 21:42). He either becomes the link that completely joins your life together, or an offense that you’ll trip over. You alone, must choose what you will do with Him. Know for certain, however that He will not conform to your expectations of Him. As the Way, the Truth and the Life, Jesus declares Himself as absolute. His love for you compels Him to show that the only way to life is through Him. As absolute truth, He actually redefines what life is. There is amazing freedom in realizing you don’t have to shoulder the pressure of deciding which set of rules to adopt. His way works! While humanity struggles and strives to find and maintain its place in life, you can discover the pathway that has already been laid out for you. You have a destiny and a purpose and He desires to show it to you!
Until God graces me to share again,
