Life's Daily Challenge Devotional

The focus of your vision

“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together,” Psalm 34:3.

To the focused one,

There is only one vision worth running toward and that is the one that originated in the heart of God, Himself. People perish where this vision is lacking. Before creation, God envisioned what He purposed to do on the earth. Down through history He has placed pieces of His vision within the spirits of people. It may seem odd, but vision starts out as a need in His mind and heart.

In order to join with God in His vision, your attention must be on Him. People reveal their innermost thoughts, feelings and dreams when they know you are concerned about them. God is no different, in this respect.

One of the great challenges in regard to vision then, is to keep it about God and not about you. When a woman conceives, she begins a process filled with pleasures and pains. On the up-side, there will be complements, and encouragements, and presents. On the down-side, there will be change, and tiredness and labor. In all of these things, there is a tendency to lose sight of the intimacy that created the life in the first place.

All life begins and is centered in God. There will be thousands of opportunities for you to focus on things other than Him. Remember, however, that whatever you put a magnifying glass on will intensify. Whether it be the pride of pain or the pride of pleasure, placing yourself at the center will increase the enemy’s access and ability to hinder the vision. Placing God under the magnifying glass allows Him to expand to His full potential as Father of the vision and Husband to you.

Until God graces me to share again,
