An overview of vision

“Where there is no vision the people perish…" Proverbs 29:18.

To the visionary,

Vision is an essential step toward life transformation. It can release God’s power to make the blind see, and cause the lame to walk. Where vision is lacking, death is eminent. Not every person who breathes, truly lives. Where there is no vision people die (Proverbs 29:18). The grave, simply, has yet to catch up with them. Lack of vision leaves no reason for discipline, no target for faith, no destination to walk toward and no hope to carry you through life’s storms.

God has placed the ability to envision within your spirit. When you submit your spirit to His, it becomes the power to share the sight of the Creator. It is the first step in producing the answers to life’s problems and challenges. It enables you to join with God in His work. Through it, you can fulfill His mandate to all mankind...“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it...” (Genesis 1:18).

Uniting with God in this way releases something inside you greater than your selfish desire to provide, protect and promote yourself. It creates a hope greater than the pain of change. Instead, the pain of not realizing what you have envisioned becomes so great it presses you beyond your comfort zone, stretching you beyond the sphere of your own strengths and abilities. You begin to move beyond perceived failure and step into the “God realm.” This is the place where you exchange what you are with all that God is. As you, “Live and move and have your being in Him (Acts 17:28), you cease to bear selfish fruit and begin to yield the very dreams and desires of God’s heart.

Until God graces me to share again,
